Red Cross assists family of 2

  • Wednesday, February 6, 2013

American Red Cross volunteers assisted a Moncks Corner family of two whose home was destroyed by fire last week.
The Red Cross provided the family with temporary housing in a nearby hotel, financial assistance to help replace the food and clothing lost in the fire and comfort kits filled with personal emergency supplies. Referrals to Red Cross partner agencies were also provided to assist in their long-term recovery.
The Red Cross has assisted 667 individuals affected by disasters, including home fires, in its seven-county region of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties, since July 1, 2012.
