The 14th annual Shuckin’ in the Park oyster roast is scheduled for Saturday, March 9, at the Old Santee Canal Park. Gates open at Noon, and the festival runs from 1-6 p.m.
Whether you're a connoisseur or a casual fan, there'll be room for you at the table. This briny feast will also feature activities for the children, including a jump castle. Enjoy live entertainment from Custom 4+2, whose blend of beach music, oldies and popular music has made them a local favorite. Or explore the natural beauty of the historic Old Santee Canal Park, nestled within the backwaters of Biggin Creek.
For the fourth consecutive year, 100 percent of Shuckin' in the Park's electricity needs will be powered by renewable Green Power from Santee Cooper.
Small coolers are allowed, but visitors are asked to keep their pets and golf carts at home. Admission is $3 in advance and $5 at the gate. Buckets of oysters are $7, and a variety of food from local vendors will also be available.
Old Santee Canal Park is located at 900 Stony Landing Road in Moncks Corner. For more details or to purchase advance tickets, contact the park at 843-899-5200 or visit www.oldsanteecanalpark.org.
