The following incidents were obtained from Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office reports:
• Moncks Corner Rural Fire Department Chief Scott Lee said a suspicious vehicle fire was reported to deputies on Jan. 30 at about 2 p.m. The vehicle was on fire when a deputy arrived, although nobody was in or standing near the vehicle, located off West End Drive near Moncks Corner.
The deputy was unable to locate a VIN or license plate, although the word “Mazda” was written on the tailgate of the truck. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot.
• A Moncks Corner woman reported a prowler outside her window on a recent night off Cane Gully Road. The complainant said she was babysitting and went to lay the child down for the night when she saw a figure watching her from the bedroom window. She said at first she thought she was seeing things, but then saw the figure lean away and return.
She said the figure was wearing all black but she could not make out any distinguishing features.
• A homebuilder employee contacted authorities on Jan. 29 after discovering several items missing from a site on Linden Court near Moncks Corner. Items missing include an air condenser, an air handles, a gas range with a hood, a ceiling fan and various light fixtures.
No suspect information was available but the complainant said several sub-contractors have access. The missing items have a total estimated valued of $6,000.
• A woman reported that her electronic tablet reading device was missing from her Resinwood Road residence near Moncks Corner on the afternoon of Jan. 29. The victim said she left the reading device on her living room coffee table.
She said her daughter and her boyfriend were still at the residence when she left but returned after she did that evening. Upon her return the victim said the tablet was missing and there were no signs of forced entry.
