ARHS bomb threat a hoax
A bomb threat called into Ashley Ridge High School Friday morning turned out to be a hoax.
Ashley Ridge High School received a communication at about 11:45 a.m. Friday that a bomb was at the school, according to Dorchester School District 2 Spokeswoman Pat Raynor. A fire drill was immediately conducted and police officers, along with a canine unit, thoroughly searched the entire campus for nearly an hour before determining the threat to be a hoax, Raynor said.
Students were out of the building for approximately one hour, Raynor said.
Any such situation that could be considered a danger to students and staff is alwaystreated seriously, Raynor noted.
The incident is being investigated by law enforcement, Raynor said.
