St. Stephen native a Presidential Inauguration performer

  • Wednesday, January 23, 2013

Charles Watson of St. Stephen was set to perform at the 57th Presidential Inauguration on Monday in Washington, D.C. with the Lee University Festival Choir.
Watson, a graduate of Timberland High School, is a senior pastoral ministries major at Lee.
On behalf of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander invited the choral group in November to sing at the swearing-in ceremonies.
The 200-voice choir, led by Dean of the School of Music Dr. William R. Green, consists of students who have been chosen from seven campus choral ensembles, including 350 vocalists, which perform regularly as part of the Lee University School of Music.
