Dessie May Sabiston, a longtime resident of Moncks Corner, recently celebrated her 100th birthday with her three children, Myrna Wauhop, Rod Sabiston and Diane Colson, and many other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Sabiston was delighted to receive two framed pictures of her parents, a song written especially for her called “Shine On,” and other gifts and cards.
She has fond memories of attending school in Moncks Corner as a child; being taught by Miss Whitlock and Miss McCantz; raising her own children with her late husband, Doug; playing the piano; and attending Moncks Corner United Methodist Church.
Today she remains an amazing woman of strength and faith. She enjoys visiting family and friends, reading, and taking care of her thriving violets.
Mrs. Sabiston turned 100 on Dec. 17.
