Remembering the true spirit of the holidays

  • Monday, January 14, 2013

Dear Friends,

Merry Christmas!  The past year has brought us many blessings and many challenges. As we continue working to build a stronger and brighter future for our nation, I hope you will join me today in remembering the true spirit of the holidays.

The optimism and hope this season brings is also how we should look at America's future - full of opportunities. Our faith not only provides a strong backbone, but the mindset that will move us forward. By staying committed to our values and principles, we will ensure the challenges of today are met with solutions for tomorrow.

Let us also pray for the members of our Armed Forces, who put their lives on the line to keep us safe everyday. We will never forget those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and can be assured they are resting in eternal peace.

So I wish you a Merry Christmas from my family to yours, and I look forward serving the great state of South Carolina in the U.S. Senate next year.

God Bless,
