Community enjoys lighting of Christmas Tree

The Macedonia community gathered on the night of Dec. 1 for the lighting of the Christmas Tree.
Macedonia Community Action Project members and several young people erected and decorated†the tree earlier that day.
At the lighting, Marsha Giggleman welcomed everyone, and Pastor Chris Peagler gave prayer and told the story of Christmas. Jodi Nobles sang several Christmas songs, and the program closed with Chris Peagler giving a prayer.
Everyone went outside for the lighting of the tree; there was a countdown and the little daughter of Pastor Peagler flipped the electric switch to light the tree. It was really beautiful. Santa arrived, giving out candy canes, and talking with each child about what they wanted for Christmas.
Then everyone went inside to have hot dogs, cookies, hot chocolate and coffee. Everyone had an enjoyable time. The turnout wasn't as large as in former years but it was still a lot of fun for adults and children. No matter how old you are Christmas time brings out the child in you!

Thank You

The Macedonia Community Action Project wants to think everyone who helped in the Christmas Tree lighting, the preparation of refreshments and Roger Mitchum of the Macedonia Handy Mart for the donation of hot dogs and buns.†All of the help was greatly appreciated.
