Fraternity conducts Outstanding Recognition Program

The Iota Beta Beta Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. conducted its annual Achievement Week Program on Nov. 11 at Wesley AME Church in Pinnopolis.
The inspirational program featured Dr. Henry N. Tisdale, the eighth President of Claflin University.
The program recognized student achievers with scholarships; and outstanding business persons, community contributors, educators, as well as members of the fraternity with beautifully framed certificates.
The program also featured special youth performances and was a phenomenal demonstration of the positive impact the Fraternity is having on Berkeley and surrounding counties through its work and continuing contributions.
Specific information regarding persons recognized during the program will be presented in a future column. We do wish, however at this time, to express appreciation to Elijah McCants, the President of Iota Beta Beta Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and all organizational members for providing an outstanding program for everyone to enjoy and learn from. We also wish them continued success in all endeavors.

Mustapher Ordained

Pineville native, Elder – Elect Terry J. Mustapher was ordained to the Gospel Ministry on Nov. 18 at the Praise and Deliverance House of Prayer in Killeen, TX.
The special service was beautiful and meaningful to, and for, him, his family, and all in attendance. We will certainly continue to keep Elder Mustapher in or thoughts and prayers and congratulate him as he begins his ministerial calling.

Abiding Word Ministries

Abiding Word Ministries of Moncks Corner is endeavoring to build a facility to provide an open door, safe haven, and fun and learning site for boys and girls to go when they have extra time on their hands.
The desire of the ministries is to complete phase one of the plan debt free. Annual Omega Jefferson Christmas Breakfast

The Day Dawn Baptist Church will conduct its Annual Community Omega B. T. Jefferson Christmas Breakfast on Dec. 19 at 9 a.m. in the church hall.

Welcome Baby Lyla

Congratulations to Andrew and Chanda Kelly, on the birth of their daughter, Lyla who came into the world on Nov. 28 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.  Kyla was a bouncing 8 lb 2.4 oz, 20 inch beautiful little girl who joins sisters, Aneisha, Leah and Laci.
Chanda is a daughter of Jerome and Yvonne  Barnes of Pineville.
