CSU’s Harper honored by league

Charleston Southern sophomore guard Arlon Harper (College Park, Ga.) has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Menís Basketball Player of the Week, for games played Dec. 3-9, it was announced Monday by the Conference office.
Harper scored a career-high 30 points as the Bucs defeated cross-town rival The Citadel, 101-73, last Tuesday. He was a perfect 5-of-5 from three-point range and 11-of-14 overall from the field, and added three steals and two assists.
Harper had 13 points in the opening 11 minutes as CSU built a 29-13 lead, and finished without a turnover in 24 minutes of action.
A preseason All-Big South selection, Harper leads the Bucs in scoring at 16.3 points per game through eight games, good for sixth in the Big South. He is seventh in the league in steals at 2.2 per game.
