Hammond certifies S.C.’s 9 electoral votes

Secretary of State Mark Hammond convened the 2012 Electoral College Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Columbia. Unanimously casting their votes for Presidential nominee Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, and Vice Presidential nominee Representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District, were:

Chad Connelly, At-large;
Drew McKissick, At-large;
Cynthia F. Costa, 1st Congressional District;
Randall S. Page, 2nd Congressional District;
Janice C. McCord, 3rd Congressional District;
Betty Sheppard Poe, 4th Congressional District;
Sandra R. Stroman, 5th Congressional District;
Roy Rex Lindsey, III, 6th Congressional District; and
James Edward Jerow, 7th Congressional District.
 
“We live in a great democracy and it is an honor to certify the electoral votes that will be tabulated in Washington, D.C that will officially elect our next President and Vice President of the United States,” said Mark Hammond, Secretary of State
Chad Connelly was elected President of the Electoral College, and Cynthia Costa was elected Secretary.
South Carolina Educational Television (ETV) provided coverage of the meeting, and will offer streaming video of the Electoral College on their website at scetv.org.  The video will also be available on State House Today at http://scetv.org/index.php/state_house_today_blog/.
