Girl Scout cookies will go on sale Friday, Jan. 11, with door-to-door sales continuing through Jan. 27. Pre-sale delivery will be held Feb. 15-21 and booth sales begin Feb. 22 and continue through March 17.
There are new features to the cookie sale this year, according to the Girl Scouts.
Mango Creme, a new cookie with a tropical taste, has been added to the traditional cookie lineup. The cookie features vanilla- and coconut- flavored cookies paired with a mango-flavored cream filling.
With girls becoming more tech savvy every day, the cookie sale will feature mobile and online components to help buyers find cookies and learn more about the sale. The official Girl Scout cookie app is available for Apple and Android operating systems.
Cookie packaging will also be changing, now focusing on the five skills girls learn when participating in the cookie program – goal setting, decision-making, money management, people skills and financial ethics.
The boxes will now reflect what buying a box of cookies really does – helping girls become the leaders of the future.
In addition, Feb. 8 has been designated National Girl Scout Cookie Day. Celebrate by visiting girlscoutcookies.org, locating a girl or troop selling cookies near you and purchasing a box of cookies.
