Crime in the County

The following incidents were obtained from Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office reports:

• A Bonneau resident reported the larceny of an iPhone 4S from a Barn Road residence between Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.  and Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. The serial number was entered into NCIC. The phone is valued at $200.

• Another Bonneau resident reported that a grill was stolen on the night of Oct. 5 from a Heaven Drive residence.
The stainless steel gas grill appears to have been pulled through the front yard to the roadway where it was likely put in a truck or trailer. The grill is valued at $300.

• A burglar in St. Stephen evidently took several appliances from a Timmonsville Road residence, including the kitchen sink.
The theft occurred between Sept. 1 and Oct. 6. The residence is unoccupied. The complainant said someone entered through a window and removed the following items: the kitchen stove, beds, chairs, a shower and tub, and the kitchen sink. The total value of stolen items is $1,100.

• Another burglary took place at a St. Stephen residence sometime on Oct. 5 or Oct. 6. The complainant said they entered a relative’s residence on St. Peter’s Drive and found that someone had burglarized the following items: 40 pounds of venison from the freezer, a window air conditioning unit, a washing machine, a dryer, a 200-foot extension cord, a hanging chain hoist, a 55-gallon drum of deer feed corn and one deer rack.
The total value of items stolen is estimated to be $2,050. The residence has not been occupied since December 2010.

• Sometime between Sept. 15 and Oct. 5 an unknown person stole $3,300 in jewelry from a Moncks Corner residence on Nyler Court. Three rings on top of the complainant’s dresser in their bedroom were stolen. One is white gold with a large marquise diamond and yellow gold stripes near the smaller diamond. Another is a white gold wedding band with a small rectangle of diamonds on top.
The other is a 14-karat ring with an oval emerald and a diamond. The rings are size seven.

• On Oct. 6 at 3:30 p.m. a vehicle was burning inside the fenced lot of a towing company on Maplewood Drive near Moncks Corner. The Whitesville Rural Fire Department responded and entered the fenced lot.
The burned vehicle was a 2005 blue Dodge van. The vehicle was towed to the lot earlier that morning after being in a head-on collision.
