Crime in the County

The following incidents were obtained from Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office reports:

• An Arizona license plate was stolen from a rental moving truck parked on South Live Oak Drive in Moncks Corner. The incident occurred sometime between 4 p.m. on Sept. 26  and 2 p.m. on Sept. 27.
The estimated value of the plate is $50.

• A man’s work truck was stolen after it was parked overnight at a convenience store in Cross. The white 2005 Ford F-150 extended cab has “Sanders Bros.” decals on the sides. The complainant said the keys were left in the console.
The incident occurred between 4 p.m. on Sept. 25 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 26. The $10,000 truck was entered into NCIC.

• Someone kicked in the front door of a Pooshie Plantation Road residence in Bonneau between Noon on Sept. 24 and 10 a.m. on Sept. 26. The access pan to the attic was open, and when the complainant entered the attic they noticed the air conditioner, valued at $500, was missing.

• A citizen reported finding a handgun in the woods near St. Stephen at 2:21 p.m. on Sept. 26. A deputy then found the gun near the Russellville boat landing.
The Smith and Wesson, black and silver semi-automatic pistol was in a tan leather holster on the ground. The deputy made sure the pistol was not loaded and checked the serial number through central dispatch and NCIC. The pistol was not listed as stolen, but the owner’s information was not available.

• On Sept. 25 an East Poplar Drive resident in Moncks Corner woke up to go to work at 4 a.m. but noticed his gray 2000 Mercury Mountaineer was missing. An unknown subject stole the vehicle sometime after the victim parked it at 9:30 p.m. the night before.
The $8,000 vehicle was left unlocked. It was entered into NCIC.
