Cash celebrates 75 years with friends and family
Helen Cash invited 75 family members and close friends to celebrate the 75th birthday of her husband, Carroll on Saturday, July 28.
The party was hosted at the Barony House in Moncks Corner. Guests shared the great food prepared by owner and chef, Van "Bubba" High.
Members of Carroll’s family came from around the Charleston area, from Spartanburg and Gaffney, and from Statesville, NC, his hometown. Friends from the Friendship UMC in Cross, where Carroll served as pastor for eight years, and the St. Andrews Parish UMC on Highway 61 in Charleston where he currently is the Director of Ministry Development, joined the celebration.
Neighbors and friends from the New Hope community in Berkeley County along with some from Columbia and Beaufort helped sing happy birthday.
"It is,” Carroll said, “the best 75th birthday I have ever had."
Class of ‘67
Berkeley High School’s Class of 1967 thoroughly enjoyed uniting with old friends to reminisce in July at the reunion held at the Berkeley Country Club.
Of course, everyone remarked about who has changed and who has not while dancing to the music of the Customs Four. Among those present were Ben Coker with wife Polly and Mary Beaty, better known to many as “Sister.”
An amazing video was made by Elaine Peagler Rawls and is featured on YouTube for all to continue to enjoy for many years to come.
This group called Friends of the Berkeley County Library has launched a new website at fobcls.bbnow.org/.
Thanks to a cooperative effort with TechSoup and Blackbaud, the Friends accomplished this feat. Now anyone may also make donations to the Friends, join, or renew memberships online. Payment will be made securely through PayPal.
Ashley Disher, her husband and two children of New York met many of Ashley’s maternal relatives at the home of her Aunt Sandra in Summerville recently for a birthday dinner for Aunt Melanie.
Ashley, daughter of Sherrie and Jerry Disher, married a twin who also is close to his family. Ashley also visited with her Dad Jerry while she was in South Carolina.
Ashley’s sister Shelia came from Grovetown, GA to visit with her family and also to see her sister and others at the party. Ashley and her husband reside in Grovetown with their five children, who keep her quite busy! She and her husband have four children and one from his first marriage.
Quite a coincidence has occurred since Shelia’s family lives in the town where her grandmother Myrtis Easterlin and husband Bob also lived when they were a young couple.
