Berkeley County School District bus drivers Perry Fogle and Leah Woods were honored during the Berkeley County School Board’s meeting on June 12.

The Berkeley County School District announced that two district bus drivers finished first and second at the recent South Carolina Association of Public Transportation (SCAPT) “School Bus Road-E-O.”
Perry Fogle took the first place prize and Leah Woods finished second.  Both are members of the district’s Goose Creek transportation team.

Fogle, Woods and 10 additional transportation team members represented Berkeley County at the competition, the largest team in attendance. They both received a cash prize.

Fogle will receive recognition at the SCAPT summer convention in Myrtle Beach. He will also represent Berkeley County and South Carolina at the national competition later this year.
Teams from 11 school districts competed in events involving a written examination and driving skills. The skills tested included pre-trip inspection, parallel parking a school bus, diminished clearance, student pick-up, railroad crossing safety and others.
