Cane Bay splits season openers

Cane Bay’s basketball teams began the season with a split on Monday night, with the Lady Cobras defeating James Island 48-42 and the Cobras falling 70-58.
Brookelynn Doctor powered the Cane Bay girls with 14 points, while Lindsay Manning added eight points. The win made new coach Ira Owens a winner in his debut.
Jiquan Hammond led the Cane Bay with 20 points and Raekwon Rivers added 10 points. Christian Lawyer chipped in nine points.
Cane Bay hosts Ashley Ridge on Friday.
