Cane Bay custodian arrested for assaulting student

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Cane Bay High School custodian for allegedly assaulting a 16-year-old student.
According to the BCSO, Wilber Burnette Dash of 568 Stoney Landing Rd. in Moncks Corner was arrested Friday and charged with Assault, third degree. He is being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center pending a bond hearing Friday night.
The BCSO responded to a call at the school on Thursday at 2 p.m. concerning a reported assault, a BCSO release stated.
As soon as the alleged incident was reported and in compliance with Berkeley County School District policy, the employee involved was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of a full investigation.
