A woman accused of kidnapping her biological daughter in July was denied bond Thursday.
Summerville police issued an Amber Alert on July 19 after Megan Briggs, 19, was accused of sneaking into her grandparents’ house in the Bridges of Summerville subdivision in the middle of the night and taking her daughter, two-year-old Haley.
Haley lived with her great-grandparents, who had been granted full custody in May, according to a Summerville police report.
They had a restraining order preventing Briggs from visiting their home, according to the report.
The law caught up with Briggs in North Carolina a few hours later and Haley was returned home.
This week, Briggs returned to Summerville to face a judge.
She was charged with first degree burglary, kidnapping and grand larceny and denied bail.
