The recent articles by Dan Brown in The Berkeley Independent, which focused on the need for improved healthcare access in Berkeley County, clearly resonated with me and my colleagues at Trident Health. Several years ago the president of MUSC, Ray Greenberg, wrote an important letter of support for our proposed hospital in Moncks Corner and I thank him for his continued support, as evidenced by his comments in Mr. Brown’s article.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Berkeley County elected officials for their continued efforts to improve access to hospital care in Northern Berkeley County by supporting our Moncks Corner hospital proposal. In particular, last year’s petition drive led by the mayors of Moncks Corner, St. Stephen, Bonneau and Jamestown and signed by nearly 5,000 residents was an important show of support for a hospital located specifically in Moncks Corner.
On behalf of our staff and physicians, including those currently providing care at Trident’s Moncks Corner Medical Center emergency and outpatient facility, I also say thank you to the residents of Berkeley County for trusting us with your care for the past 37 years.
President and CEO, Trident Health
