Taylor, 18, lives in Summerville and is a graduate of Stratford High School. His achievement was celebrated during a May 4th Court of Honor at Boone Hill United Methodist Church, home of Troop 759.
He has been involved in Scouting since he joined Cub Scouts in First grade. He earned a total of 52 merit badges.
While in Troop 759, he attended summer camps at Camp Moultrie, Skymont Scout Reservation, Cherokee Scout Reservation, Camp Ho Non Wah, and East Coast High Adventure Camp.  He also attended four winter camps at Camp Ho Non Wah, two as a participant and two as a staff member.  He also attended the 2010 National Boy Scout Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill, Va. as a member of the Coastal Carolina Council Contingent Troop 1928.   Taylor has been a member of the Camp Ho Non Wah Summer Camp Staff for the past four years, serving as a Nature, Robotics and Scouts Skills counselor.
As a member of Troop 759, Taylor has held the positions of Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, and Order of the Arrow Representative.  He is also a Brotherhood member in the Order of Arrow.   He is a member of Venturing Crew 314 at Boone Hill UMC.  He’s held positions of Treasurer and Secretary.  He has also been a member of the Coastal Carolina Council Venturing Leaders Council as Treasurer.
For his service project, Taylor planned and completed work at Boone Hill UMC Playschool Playground on March 9, 2013.  Taylor’s project was replacing 100 feet of old, rusty chain link fencing surrounding the Boone Hill Daycare playground with a wooden fence.  Taylor planned and organized the procurement of all required materials and he led twelve youth and seven adults in the removal of the old fence prep of the area for the new fence, and installation of the new fence.
"Taylor is a servant leader and has served in many ways during his time at the troop and the Coastal Carolina Council.” Scoutmaster Jason Pearson said.
Taylor is the son of Garry and Sharon Perry of Summerville and will attend Charleston Southern University in the fall.
