The Junior League of Summerville ended the 2012-2013 league year having raised over $35,000 for the Summerville Community.
Among the events JSL sponsors are Scarecrows in the Square, Ghostwalk, the John Tupper Golf Classic and the Community Grants Fund.
Scarecrows in the Square and Ghostwalk support the schools in Dorchester District 2.
This year, due to community involvement and giving, JSL was able to add Dorchester District 4 schools to its areas of support.
The John Tupper Golf Classic and the Community Grant Fund supports the JSL’s designated community organizations JSL also provided approximately 3500 community service hours to its community organizations and other JSL sponsored events throughout this year.
JSL recognized and thanked its nine sustaining members for their service to Summerville: Stacie Acree, Kristy Coakley, Amy Jurgensmeyer, Sarah Murray, Laura Patterson, Jessica Smith, Mindy Thompson, Jessica Webster, and Noel Williams.
JSL, a women’s volunteer organization committed to developing the potential of women and improving the community of Dorchester County and surrounding areas, is currently recruiting new members for the 2013-2014 Provisional Class. Anyone interested in becoming a part of JSL should contact Provisional Chairs Kimberly and Krista at email@example.com or join the group for the informational session on July 15at 6:30 p.m. at the Country Club of Summerville (Miler) in Summerville.
