Jane Hood --

The Santee Cooper Board of Directors has authorized the promotion of Jeff Armfield to senior vice president and chief financial officer and Jane Hood to vice president of fuels strategy and supply, effective July 1.
Armfield replaces Elaine Peterson, who will retire June 30. Through this position he will also join Santee Cooper's executive management team.
Armfield, who is currently vice president of fuels strategy and supply, will oversee that area as well as information technology, treasury, corporate planning and the controller's office.
“Jeff is financially astute and passionate about improving Santee Cooper. He understands the importance of maintaining our strong financial health and of helping to drive down our costs.  I expect him to bring some fresh perspectives and changes as it relates to our strategy on a host of financial and other issues,” said Lonnie Carter, Santee Cooper president and chief executive officer.
Armfield began his career at Santee Cooper 29 years ago, as a senior auditor. Since then, Armfield has served in a variety of positions including director of financial planning, manager of business services, treasurer and controller. In corporate forecasting, he worked with financial planning, budgeting and rates.
As manager of business services, his responsibilities included materials planning, warehousing, building services, transportation services, records, library, printing and mail services.
Armfield graduated from The Citadel in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in business and earned his Master of Business Administration degree there in 1988. He is a certified public accountant, a certified internal auditor, a certified treasury professional and a chartered global management accountant.
Hood has served as superintendent of generation technical services since 2011. She joined Santee Cooper in 2006 as a general engineer, and was promoted shortly after to principal engineer. Prior to joining Santee Cooper, Hood spent 20 years at BP Amoco, most recently serving as reliability superintendent at their Cooper River Plant.
Hood has a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Clemson University, and she is a candidate to receive a Master of Business Administration degree from The Citadel in August.
“Jane has detailed experience with the environmental and operational impacts associated with using different types of fuels, which will serve our customers well. She has also worked for one of our large industrial customers and so understands the importance of affordable fuel costs,” Carter said.
