Lowcountry Black Historical Society to honor community leaders Sunday

A Democratic Party candidate for the First Congressional District, Elizabeth Colbert-Busch graduated from the College of Charleston in 1988 with a concentration in Supply Chain and Logistics. She worked for Orient Oversea Container Line, Inc., becoming Director of Sales and Marketing. She also served as liaison between OOCL, the federal government, and several states, and was named Chair for the Maritime Association of South Carolina and the S.C. International Trade Conference. Currently, she serves on the Brookings Institute's Advisory Council on Exports and the World Trade Center Charleston at the Metro Chamber of Commerce. She is an advisor to the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Coalition and is on the Charleston School of Law's Maritime Institute Advisory Board. She also served on the College of Charleston's Intermodal Transportation and Logistics Management Program advisory committee. She is Director of Business Development at Clemson University's Restoration Institute, Colbert-Busch and her husband, Claus Wyman Busch III have three children and two grandchildren.
