Looking for a good time and a good cause?
The Downs Byrd Memorial Oyster Roast will be held Feb. 2 starting at 6 p.m. at Miler Country Club in Summerville.
The popular event, now in its 13th year, is an annual fundraiser for the Frances R. Willis SPCA and Animal Shelter. The event will feature a cash bar, silent auction, hot dogs and sides, music by DJ Wendell Nolan, desserts by the Junior Service League of Summerville, and, of course, all the oysters you care to eat.
This year the party will be held in Miler’s newly expanded indoor/outdoor event space. That means there will be room for more tables, which means more room and less waiting, noted Frances Willis Board of Directors Chair Courtney Wilson.
Tickets are available and are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Golf cart shuttles will be available for parking and all proceeds will go to the Frances R. Willis SPCA and Animal Shelter.
Tickets can be purchased at the SPCA, Westbury Veterinary Clinic, Skydogs Family Dog Park, or Miler Country Club. For more information visit the SPCA at 136 Four Paws Lane, call the SPCS at 843-871-3820, email firstname.lastname@example.org, go to the website at www.summervillespca.org or visit their Facebook page.
