MMS students raise money for UNICEF
The Builders Club at Macedonia Middle School recently held a contest at the school to collect money for Trick or Treat for UNICEF.
Each homeroom was given a box, and students were encouraged to bring in pennies to put in the box. This worthy endeavor was to support UNICEF's Eliminate Project, which has set a goal to "eliminate material and neo-natal tetanus in third world countries. If a child is born with this disease, it only lives about a week and dies a painful death. To cure this disease, the mother needs three injections at a cost of $1.80 total.”
Kiwanis International has joined forces with UNICEF to eliminate this problem.
Students at Macedonia Middle rose to the challenge and donated $343.37. The class with the largest amount collected was rewarded with a pizza party; congratulations to Mr. Craig Breedlove and his all girl homeroom who collected $136.56.
The MMS Builders Club is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Moncks Corner.
