Moncks Corner NAACP Annual Meeting Dec. 5
The annual meeting of the Moncks Corner Branch of the NAACP will be conducted on Dec. 5 at 8 a.m., in the Haynes Office Building (North Highway 52 in Moncks Corner).
At 6 p.m., the organization will conduct its Centennial Celebration at the Moncks Corner AME Church at 306 West Main Street.
The speaker for the celebration will be Mr. Jamarr Brown, Second Vice Chairman of the South Carolina State Democratic Party. There is no fee for attendance; however, a financial contribution would be greatly appreciated.

As the NAACP celebrates 100 years of service and action, it reminds everyone of its mission: To ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.
Regional Conference
Members of the Berkeley County Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Kappa Alpha Zeta Chapter participated in the recent Southeastern Region Conference conducted in Orlando, Florida.
The conference convenes members from South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Members of Kappa Alpha Zeta participated in program activities and were featured on two of the main programs conducted during the conference.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. is an international program that focuses on community service, health initiatives, scholarship, finer womanhood and sisterly love. In the near future, members will be conducting a health forum for Berkeley County Citizens. The organization also continues its strong connection with the March of Dimes and the National Education Foundation.
Women’s Guild
Our Lady of Peace Women’s Guild will be collecting personal items for Christmas gifts for the Moultrie Nursing Home in St. Stephen.
Items can be socks, lap covers, shawls, shampoo, disposable razors, and playing cards, slipper socks with grips, soap, or lotion. Gifts are to be wrapped with tags identifying them for ladies, gentlemen or generic. Items may be placed in a box in the back of the church.
