Snider named assistant principal at Knox Middle
Terrence Snider, formerly of Jamestown and the son of the late Rev. Robert "Bob" Snider Jr. and Mrs. Inez L. Snider, has been named an assistant principal at Knox Middle School in Salisbury, N.C.
Terrence has resided in Salisbury since 2000. During the 2004-2005 school year, Terrence was voted Teacher of the Year at North Rowan Middle. After receiving this honor, he became a finalist for the
Rowan-Salisbury Schools Teacher of the Year and later the district runner-up.
At the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year, Terrence transferred to Salisbury High School where he taught college preparatory, honors, and general English I. While completing his first year at Salisbury, he was voted Teacher of the Year Runner-Up.
Terrence became a Curriculum Coach at Knox Middle School in Salisbury in August 2007 and became Assistant Principal in August 2008. Some of
Terrence's former students have nominated him to Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
He was also awarded the Spencer, N.C., Jaycees Outstanding Young Educator of the Year Award for 2005-2006.
Terrence has been asked twice to participate in Catawba College's Teacher Education Day. He earned his high school diploma from Macedonia High, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Benedict College, and a Masters degree from The Citadel. He is currently taking classes at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C.

Wesley AME Walk-a-Thon
Wesley AME Church is sponsoring a Walk-a-Thon, entitled “Making Strides, Helping Lives”, on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 8 a.m. All proceeds will benefit nursing homes, care homes, and homeless shelters.
Tickets are $1 for ages 2-6, $3 for ages 7-22, and $5 for ages 23 and older.
The walk will begin at Springview and French Santee Road and go to Gant’s Pond at 1305 Springview Road. Lunch will be served and at 3 p.m. there will be a “Prayer for the Children.”

Teen Read Week
Students and the Media Center will be celebrating Teen Read Week Oct. 27-31.
The activities planned include: Favorite Bite (students writing their favorite Book With Bite on apples that will be posted on the library doors); Amnesty Week (Students can return books and not pay a late fee (no matter how late); Twilight/New Moon trivia contest (students pick up questions at beginning of week; the first to submit with all correct answers will receive a jump drive); Books with Byte (Students create a short video of the student book
talking their favorite book. Students will have to submit the videos by Friday, Nov. 7. The videos will be judged and the top ones shown on Wolf News.); Candy guessing contest (Guess the number of candy corn in the jar to win its contents).
Reunion planned
Members of the Graduating Classes of Macedonia High School (1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, and 1971) are beginning to plan a multi-class reunion for
the spring of 2009.
